Our assistant answers quickly and simply. To go further (comparing parties, ranking Members, analysing a debate in depth), connect our public data server to the assistant you already use. It is free, needs no account with us, and takes two minutes.
The address to copy
Every assistant below needs the same address: that of our data server, in MCP format (Model Context Protocol), the open standard that lets an AI use outside tools.
https://opentheparliament.com/mcp
Free, no account, no key: no authentication is required.
Read-only: your assistant reads the Chamber’s public data and cannot change anything.
The same data as this site: votes, speeches, written questions and Members of legislature 56 (since July 2024).
Protected: every request goes through our gateway, which turns away anything that is not a plain read.
Step by step, by assistant
Menu names are those of the English interface; they may vary with the language and version of the app.

Not yet available in Belgium.
Gemini accepts custom servers, but for now only for personal accounts in the United States, in English. This page will be updated when it becomes possible here.
Developer tools
Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code…
Any MCP-compatible client works: add a remote server (HTTP transport), without authentication, with the address above. For example, in Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http openparliament https://opentheparliament.com/mcp
What to ask
Your assistant can combine the data and run calculations that our built-in assistant does not. For example:
“Which Members vote most often against their own group?”
“Compare attendance at votes between the majority and opposition groups.”
“Summarise the latest debate on nuclear energy, with quotes and their dates.”
“Which written questions were asked about mental health, and by whom?”
Good to know
The answer comes from your assistant. We provide only the data; the answer is written by the tool you use, under its own rules and its publisher’s responsibility.
Your questions stay with your assistant. Our server only receives the searches your assistant runs on it, without your identity.
Check the sources. An AI can be wrong: open the references it cites (sitting, vote, dossier) before reusing a piece of information.
The limits of the data are described on our AI transparency page.
