Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is Mavericks SRL, Rozenhof, 3300 Tienen, Belgium, company number 0800.065.007. For any question about your data: contact@opentheparliament.com.
What data we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, organization (optional), profile, the subject and content of your message.
- Technical data: our host keeps server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, date and time) to keep the site secure.
- Spam protection: when you start filling in the contact form, Google reCAPTCHA checks that you are not a robot. Google receives your IP address and information about your browser and your use of the page, and may set a cookie.
- Donations: the payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive your name, email address and the amount, never your card or bank details.
- Audience measurement: only if you accept it. Visits are counted anonymously, without cookies and without profiling.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Answering your request: our legitimate interest in replying to you, or steps taken at your request before an agreement (GDPR, art. 6.1.f and 6.1.b).
- Securing the website: our legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).
- Protecting the contact form from robots (Google reCAPTCHA): our legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).
- Processing donations: performance of the transaction and our accounting obligations (art. 6.1.b and 6.1.c).
- Audience measurement: your consent (art. 6.1.a), which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request, then 12 months at most. Donation records: as long as Belgian accounting law requires. Server logs: according to our host’s retention policy.
Who receives it
We never sell your data. Only the team members who handle your request can read it, together with the service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Hostinger International Ltd. (hosting, Cyprus);
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers form messages to our mailbox;
- Google Ireland Limited (reCAPTCHA, protection of the contact form against robots), under Google’s privacy policy;
- our email provider;
- our payment provider, for donations;
- Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia), for anonymous audience measurement, only with your consent.
When data leave the European Union, the transfer relies on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to contact@opentheparliament.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.
Questions asked to the assistant
When you use “Ask the Chamber”, your question (and the earlier questions of the same conversation) is sent to Anthropic, which provides the assistant’s AI model, to produce the answer; the text of a search by meaning is sent to Google. We do not keep your questions. These providers process them under their terms for business services. Do not include personal data in your questions. Details on our AI transparency page.
